Code of Conduct

At Inventing Animals, we take our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity very seriously. That's why we have developed a comprehensive code of conduct that outlines our values and principles, and provides clear expectations for the behavior of our employees and representatives.

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment

  • Demonstrating empathy and kindness toward other people
  • Being respectful of differing opinions, viewpoints, and experiences
  • Giving and gracefully accepting constructive feedback
  • Accepting responsibility and apologizing to those affected by our mistakes, and learning from the experience

Examples of unacceptable behavior

  • Comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion, worldview
  • Offensive and suggestive remarks
  • Intimate questions
  • Foul or obscene language
  • Raised voice or shouting
  • Innuendo and derogatory comments
  • Inappropriate comments about dress, appearance, physique, or abilities
  • Persistent requests for social activities (after it has been made clear that such requests are unwelcome) or other persistent unwelcome attention of a personal nature
  • Whistling, winking and suggestive or offensive gestures
  • Inappropriate physical contact (including touching, standing too close, pinching, pushing, and grabbing)
  • Unwelcome sexual attention or suggestive behaviour
  • Threats, assault or coercing sexual acts
  • Racist, sexist, homophobic or ageist jokes, or derogatory or stereotypical remarks about a particular ethnic or religious group or gender
  • Mocking, mimicking, or belittling a person's disability
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviour
